| Hull gone public saying they would like to take Eseh permanently but the option on next year is with us and they doubt we will be releasing him.
I really hope we give him next year to have a run at his long term Wigan career.

| Cartwright knows his stuff and is not holding back with his views on Sam. The Hull coach doesn't seem to suffer fools and putting his thoughts in the public domain suggests he means what he says. He wants to keep him at this stage of the season. There is a long way to go before the season's end and plenty time and games for Sam to improve.
From his comments I do think he's spoken to people at the Wigan club and they've made it clear Sam isn't going anywhere soon.
The loan deal to Hull seems to be working well for both clubs and especially Sam.

| I hope he stays and we get to see him because he looks to have come on this season and looks far more athletic than previously. The worry we have though is even if he stays, he'll be able to speak to clubs from this December and we won't have had any chance to take a look at him by then. If the club believe in him long term, trying to extend his deal now would seem wise but from his POV he'd probably be better giving it time.

| Iv had the impression previously that Wigan don't rate him. From memory I think we've had reserve games that Eseh hasn't been picked for and he hasn't even been considered for a first team appearance.
To me his weaknesses appear to be his lateral movement and defensive contact - will watch Hull on Thursday and see if he's improved.

| Regarding centre and wing spots I think as good as Zak is and the potential he has points him to becoming a very good centre I don't really like him at wing. As NK says he struggles to make ground off our line. It will be interesting to see how Douglas goes with the possibility of a few games coming up.
AK is a very well rounded centre, defence, attack and a very good goal kicker. He'll be a big loss especially in defence and kicking. Tricky choice between keeping him for another year and giving the shirt to Zak to allow him to really develop as 1st choice. I think Zak will be looking for a regular start from next year. It does leave us worse off for goal kicking though.....
If as rumoured we are looking for an outside back are we looking for a AK 1st choice replacement or a back up?
AT prop, it seems a no brainer to keep Sam E for next year. He's getting exactly what he needs this year at Hull, playing for a very good coach and getting minutes. I think we always signed him and Chan with a longer term view and understanding of the shortage of home grown props. I can see Sam resigning at Wigan if his attitude is aligned to wigan's values.
I've not seen as much of Chan, I always thought he's too small for a prop but he's dynamic, plays the game at 100% and I think seems more suited to a 2nd row in terms of size and mobility, which is where we are short. His attitude seems to fit very well at Wigan. Others may have seen more of him to rate his 2nd row suitability....
